Chestnut wins the Nathan’s contest again, but not without controversy.
Julie Walker : He’s six foot one and weighs two hundred and twenty pounds
and was able to eat fifty-four hot dogs and buns in ten minutes. Not quite his best but Joey Chestnut says the ninetyplus degree temperatures may have done him in.
Joey Chestnut : I beat everyone. I beat everybody. I could have pushed harder
but I, maybe I played it a little safe.
Julie Walker : Chestnut’s strongest competition, six-time winner, Takeru
Kobayashi, was banned after refusing to sign a contract but showed up anyway
and was arrested.
Joey Chestnut : It’s kind of sad. I don’t know what his deal is.
